Another August, another Milwaukee Irish Fest! Once again, Milwaukee's
lakefront becomes home to the Irish and all those who enjoy rubbing shoulders
with the Gael. Get on down with the Omagh Community Choir, Tommy Makem,
Baal Tinne, the John Whelan Band, Bohola, Off Kilter, Different Drums of
Ireland, Dara, Schooner Fare and the dozens of other musicians who annually
make this the greatest musical gathering off The Island.
And things are only getting better for the Irish cultural world, with
numerous other fests shamrocked across the landscape. All this singing
and dancing at the crossroads — from Milwaukee to the Twin Cities, to Dublin,
Ohio, to Roscoe, Ill., to Newport, to Chicago — ah, De Valera would be
so pleased.
